Caught "wedding daze" @ cine today! it's really super funny.. if you want to catch a show to laugh everything off... it's a great show!!! attended "The Living Word" bible exposition on Revelations with Ben and Cynthia in the evening @ St Andrew's Cathedral also. D.A Carson is a very well-known pastor theologian ... and woh, there was so much to learn about revelations... very exciting.. very insightful... very thorough and deep... very blessed to be there... very awed after the session..we couldn't stop taking notes at all.... tomorrow it will be on the Anti-christ and the false prophet.. We can't wait! my words could not tell, not even in part.. of this debt of love that is owed by this thankful heart.. Went to support the 2 Brazilians (whom we pray together with on wednesdays) yesterday for their game @ Jalan Besar.. Had some problems with our entry..but once we got in, we did enjoy ourselves, though many funny things happened. anyways, they played for Geylang United, against Dalian something something.. Was quite slow in 1st half, but Rivaldo scored a goal in the 2nd half! we were all so excited for him! and the first thing he did was to thank God after the goal... how nice.. Junior (who reminds me of Gerome- small small , fast striker with big calf muscles heh) nearly scored when he was on the field also! very impressive! :) in the end the score was 1-0! nice! ooh, the goalkeeper was good also, but i donno his name.. Haha, yeap.. next time when i go out with David and the rest i must be more mentally prepared to do outgoing things haha. neeways, they met up with us and Fabio after the game, which was really nice.. and we talked abit and Rivaldo was very thankful that he scored the goal and he gave all credit to God.... very humble men, the 2 of them... and they were very eager to minister in Singa... visiting hospitals, prisons..anything they say.. . Paul told us today that they felt very supported when we were there .. it's nice to be there for them too.. felt very humbled and touched by their sincere attitudes and testimonies.. It is good to be encouraged by other Christians, and their faith and to fellowship with even strangers through prayer. the Brazilians and Mexicans joined us for prayer meeting today. I am truly amazed and humbled by their simple faith and their humility towards God. On a lighter note, Junior's kid is sooooooooooooo amazingly adorable :) and got to know a new Spanish lady who married a German and her name is Lucy! heh. Interesting lady :) she's nonchristian; came over for chinese class in the afternoon :D bo po mo fo! call to forgive... 'Song of the Sea' Show Went to the Song of the Sea show. It (the effects and display) was really nice actually, very much worth the 8 bucks even though the story line was super cliche and corny. some snippets ...not very clear though. ok i only have ONE snippet. haha. but it was really good and pretty, there were even fireworks at the end! but if u are cheapskate and dont want to pay the fee, u prolly can just see it from a distance at sakae sushi / new zealand's ice cream :D Snapshots some really nice scenery we took... was a pity that we couldnt catch the stars that night... they were pretty! :) so we just stood there and talked about how beautiful it was :) took this(top) to add to my "texture" library. Maybe it'll make a good silkscreen! heh. many ants(the black little spots) at the southern most point! ooh Staircase at southern most point. i leaned on it and found that it was INFESTED with termites. grossed and freaked me out. Meals Had our dinner at the Koufu foodcourt. Chicken rice was nice and err.. 3.80 for sentosa price is ok lah :D 4.20 if u add egg and wanton! The claypot stall at the food court is a must -visit! very nice, average price about 5-6.50 like that, but very worth it. some special braised chicken wing. chicken chop rice, delicious! Yea i had a wonderful time even though it rained most of the time, except for our checkout day. haha. :D Sweet! Went for a short holiday at Siloso resort fer 3 days to celebrate his ORD! ... shall give a short review! nice place, not extravagant like Shangri-la, but it has a very tropical feel to it. Shall let the photos speak for themselves. nice swimming pool with a waterfall, but dam cool. Freezzzzzzzzinnnnn coold! but soakin in the pool feels like soaking in a river in a rainforest heh. Free breakfast buffets... :) Hotel rooms were ok, nothing spectacular :D we are cheap-skates so we brought our own fruit punch cordial and bowl noodle! wahaha! Yeap that's all to the hotel stay! Following.. more on Sentosa! Went vivo to shop for some stuff yday, passed by GV and decided to watch batman! :D hmm, there are so many theatres in GV vivo -.- haha and the seats are quite comfy la haha. BATMAN was super nice! very value for money! it's long but very exciting, rather dark, quite saddening also. but it's super nice la haha! :D the joker really psycho. Christian bale is dam handsome haha. pet safari shop was nice also.. got alot of cute dogs haha. got CHOW CHOW! chow chow is a very cute dog! so cute! :D hopefully it's not "chow chow" (smelly smelly) hehe. or many years, ben and i have refused to go to prayer meetings due to bad experiences of the past, and probably cynicism and skepticism our present circumstances.. religiosity, rituals, prayer lists - i just didn't understand it,or its purpose very well.. heh, last week, we started to go to prayer meeting (after a few years!) and it was nice and intimate and peaceful... but this week it was loud and powerful and words and prophecies were revealed and words of God were proclaimed and God spoke intimately to us in the midst of everything.. me and ben are quite non-charismatic, so we didn't or couldn't pray much in the midst of the tongues cos we get distracted by it (not to say that we reject it), but God released words through Paul, prophecies through Jeremy and also spoke dearly to our hearts. So i was very blessed.. and there were people who shared about their troubles and how they were brought and encouraged through it... i don't know how to describe the disorganised nature of it, but it was nice, though very different from last week la. but an encounter with God in both, yeap :) just an interesting note... haha. there were brazilians, mexicans, americans, indians and singaporeans in a small group of about 11 people . Heh very funny hor. but it's funny to have strangers come up to you and pray for you and boom! it hits a spot and you know that it cannot be a prayer from a person's own wisdom :D hmm, on whether we continue to go .. we will see :) neeways... this saturday Pastor Elijah ( who has a prophetic ministry) is coming... so if anyone interested you're welcome ... --- On another very happy note! i received my Keith Green sheet music book that i ordered from UK! :D it took about 5 days! a cow that tries too hard to chase the flies away. What's that to you ? You follow me! just for fun. i'm borrreddddddd... on a "happier" note, Shin called me up for breakfast at 9 plus when i planned for today to be my sleep in day! And you say i'm slow when i rushed down! You will pay for it! hahaha, you better don't tell me you're tired when i jio you for breakfast next time... :D Labels: doodles Caught up with classmates @ Botak Jones sunday night :D it was fun :D heh.. photos uploaded on facebook haha. to be honest i took Botak Jones sold roti prata-ish cuisine.. maybe cos i got it mixed up with Roti John -.- yet they are so different -.- neeways, i just had mindset that botak jones was malay/indian food.. -.- hahah -.- Had dinner with Shin yesterday, was nice:D good to hear that things are ok.. :D i must remember to jio her out to eat if not she'll say i never!!! T-T HEH!! :D i love you heh <3 most of the time spent.. Dota-ing.. Ownage! Double kill! Killing spree! yea you get the idea..haha but of course i'm not the "owning" one cos i am noob -.- hahah! oh i went for my dental today , orthodontist said dont have to wear rubber bands any more and i was so happy! then -.- he put something more high level and painful inside T-T i cant bite. *cry and sit in a corner. who do you say I am? to sympathise, heck-care or continue giving support. Decided last minute to watch "Hellboy" today. Student price @ cathay is very enticing :D neeways, we had some hours before the show started so we had a slow lunch at Ichiban Sushi. hahaha. as we were eating , i came up with the idea of seeing which of us could have the longest chain of the same kind of sushi beside each other on the conveyor ...3 of the same kind will be "BINGO!" haha. quite hilarious and frantic, movement of swopping plates must be dam fast and swift. so.. we had 2 pairs of ebi one pair salmon egg/fishegg/crab roe i dont know wat the orangey-ballies are and one pair of tamago! :D and ben scored a BINGO with 3 orange-ballies sushi. Congrats! *pop poppers. i tink this is a game for ppl with O.C.D or with people that have a crazy fetish of organising things. Err, not an activity to be encouraged tho. *guilty laughter. the two of us were so sleepy and tired that we just nuaed around AMK hub and found a sitting place with the ahpeks and ahmas.. at the central atrium haha . so we started taking random photos that had random expressions. hur-hur-hur. i'm very proud of ben! last time he only had one (boring) expression but now he has a thousand and one! :D hehe. LAV! I CAN LOOK DIFFERENT IN DIFFERENT PHOTOS! haha.. random comment : i like lao po bings! very nice to eat! neeways, "Hellboy" was rather nice, was able to watch it well even tho i didnt catch the 1st one.. :D i liked the special effects and the elemental monster! remind me of W.O.W sia! and the goblins are so well portrayed!(like in WOW!) high-pitched, techy, like to haggle and small hehe. neeways came across a good drumming webpage with really good drumming lessons. A drumming course-book for a particular level would cost at least 20 bucks a book, ( i had one which costs me about 30 bucks..) , but this webbie has the abundant sheet music, drumming lessons, and guides and even mp3s to help you. and the best thing is that it's free! haha. interested click hereeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee . i really feel that good, free resources are hard to find, so use it to the best you can! T-T My child, why are you striving Confession # 1 Ironing female garments today i had to iron my dress for ben's award ceremony later at night.. and i find that .. ... i really hate ironing plaits! T-T i tink my dress had a thousand and one plaits and they are all of irregular width, so it's really hard to iron T-T so i almost really ironed until i cry.. but i tried my best la . normally i dont like to iron my clothes - i usually buy crease-free tops that are very "nua" in nature so i dont need to iron them and they are ready to wear 24/7 . heh. come to tink of it. i really dont have any other top to iron! haha. Confession #2 Ironing male garments i helped ben iron his attire for the ceremony this morning.. and i find that i really dont understand the design/cuttings/watever others call it... ironing big flat shirt surfaces are fun and easy and they look really nice when they are done, but when it comes to little plaits that are made near the cuff area it's really hard -.- yea... and i think some folds of pants are very confusing for me... hmms, i donno whether to iron everything flat down and flatten every single fold i see ..or to fold according to the fold itself and iron , accentuating the fold -.- T-T many things to learn, i need an ironing guru. hmms. Iron man? Iron Chef? Mer-iron? HA HA Confession #3 Make up and formal occasions If i could, i would love to appear in spag top and jeans for every single occasion - formal or not... without make up.. but it does seem like it is the S.O.P (standard operating procedure) that females (not really girls) should apply at least slight make up for formal dinners, ceremonies etc... aiya, i'm really bad at makeup, but i do look it up sometimes when i really need it... (youtube has really helpful live demonstrations actually ) . Sigh, and it does seem like i have to start having formal wear now.. sigh. my wardrobe has mainly shorts , denim skirts, spagtops/racer top/tubes (summer wear! ) and one pair of wearable jeans - all schoolwear! T-T sians..... ... ... i dont like to spend money on clothes that i may not wear all the time cos by the next time i have to wear it , it may not look as nice anymore... boooooo...... still have much to learn of the way of the "lady" . -.- did an avatar for ben also, tried vector art in a very cheat way . it took alot faster than my first vector art! :D haha. i realise that the "freeform pen tool" is very easy and convenient to use when there is a Wacom to outline my drawings... i just have to trace the outline with the pen using the "freeform pen tool" , rather than using the "pen tool" and plotting point by point. After i finish plotting the points, i use "convert point tool" or/and "delete anchor point" to adjust it. Labels: doodles did this for as a favor fer a friend.. i tink color coordination is very troublesome -.- it takes me really long to feel that a color is right whereas my friends woud take alot faster i tink... *cry neeways, on a lighter note, i watched "Hancock" . I didnt really like it very much, it feels abit like "I am legend" .. .all the important things only happen near the last 20 mins of the show, no clear climax, disatisfying ending.. but it's not that super bad la, i just dont like movies with no distinct movies and i cannot follow one obvious plot. Is it about Hancock changing a new leaf, about his history, about his tragic love story or about that guy who helped him . very confusing! T-T yea and recently i've learnt how to play dota. so i dota alot with ben .. we bought a few christian books at Campus Crusade mass media after we got our gst credits hahah which made us cry out " there goes our gst credits" .. but i tink it's money well spent la. he bought 2 John Stott and i bought 2 John Piper books and it totalled to almost 100 bucks for everything.. T-T and also, he bought the recently released Keith Green live dvd/cd , and we really learnt alot from Keith Green. :D haha and i bought a Keith green sheet music book online just now also... i saw the link from Kathryn's blog and i think that it's a really cheap place to buy books! she says it's cheaper than Kino and Borders and there's no delivery charges. So if you're interested, it's here.. http://www.bookdepository.co.uk yeap! Serious sleeping problems.. |
