"Not that I have already
obtained all this,
or have already been
made perfect, but I press
on to take hold of that for
which Christ Jesus
took hold of me.
Brothers, I do not
consider myself yet
to have taken hold
of it. But one thing
I do: Forgetting what
is behind and straining
toward what is ahead,
I press on toward the
goal to win the prize
for which God has called
me heavenward in
Christ Jesus.

    Swim it away

Met Ben fer lunch after a horrible night's sleep at Bugis..He lit up my day with a surprise present! :) which i really liked yesterday when we were windowshopping at Heeren :D

Headed for this Thai Cafe/Restaurant at Shaw Towers Bugis... Lav recommended it last time and it was really great! :D Yea, food is definitely better than Thai Express, at a really cheap price... $4.50 for a satisfying plate of Phat Thai! And they have great iced milk tea (they call it the traditional red tea) ..ah the shop name is called "Ah Loy Thai" haha. The food's really great!

Yea, went for a (long swim) and saw Charlton when we were about to leave..heh..talk about coincidences! :D my body aching from all the swimming -.-

well... fastforward!!! Went for dessert at KPT and guess who i saw... Arthur! My marketing tutor ( i saw him at amk chili crab place near new year's haha) . HA HA. He thinks that i think that he is a stalker. hahaha! Arthur! why u never give me A for Marketing!!!! and still can eat dessert at my territory! T-T

    a silly/gross conversation about swimming

f: what if i get stomachache when i am swimming?
    m: shit loh
f & m pauses and then say "eeeeee"
m: then your shit will float
    f: i am not a goldfish

please do not draw any references to any of the characters f/m stated in the above conversation.

watched "Get smart" today .. heh i have to say it's really quite
    funny. HA HA HA.

"Zohan" was stupidly, nonsensically, racistly, irritatingly, adam-sandlerly funny also. HAHAHA.

saw the trailer of this show "Wedding Daze" in Cathay .. thought it looked like a funny show... hahah especially the last part. haha...

and also... "He's just not that into you" . The last part is really hilarious. >o<

    Alain Fleischer: Time Exposures

    21 June to 3 August 2008

A major show at this year’s Month of Photography Asia (MOPAsia) is an exhibition of over 60 photographs by France’s leading contemporary photographer, filmmaker and writer, Alain Fleischer at the Singapore Art Museum. The exhibition titled Alain Fleischer: Time Exposures features his photography dealing with the theme of photography and cinema in which he explores the notions of time and movement in both art forms. Photographs in the exhibition span Alain Flesicher’s artistic career from the 1970s to the present.

    From Singapore art museum website...

btw.. do ADM get free entry to SAM ah? i remembered we didnt have to pay during the greek exhibition.....

    Keep on waiting

been really bored the past few days.. watched some old shows and some (really old) shows i didnt manage to catch, online:

    Iron Man
    A lot like love
    Happily never after
Project runway season 4 (it's really good!)
    Rise of Silver Surfer

and i've also read lots and lots of shoujo manga -.- some which are not complete T_T anyways.. LET'S CELEBRATE THE ENDING OF INUYASHA! geez, 558 chapters of manga leh -.-

that's what i do when i stay at home and try to save money -.-

in the mean time, i also did some photoshopping- digipainting/ vector art and random drawings. the vector art totally exhausted and killed me -.- and digipainting takes alot of patience and i'm still having trouble color-coordinating well *CRY*

neeways for some basic skills for digipainting/blending, this was quite helpful for me ..
    http://fox-orian.deviantart.com/art/WACOM-Photoshop-Tablet-Tips-5744050
i dont really think a tablet is required tho...

ya..for vector art..i thought this provided a good start.. (JP i tink you have this site on your links)
    http://www.melissaclifton.com/tutorial-vector.html

ya oops and in the midst of doing all the photoshop i sprained my wrist. haha -.- so tooopid. -_________- and i havent even completed any one of the 3 i started on -.- PFFF

neeways, bought a new sketchbook! and building429 cd "iris to iris" which me and ben had been wanting to buy a long time.. and i borrowed a couple of good books from the library! i love the library! These animation books cost crazy money sia, like 80-150 plus per book in book shops. -.- . PFFF! *inflate-deflate action* and i love that they have at least 3 copies in the library, then i can just borrow another of the same one when i havent finish reading it and it's due. HA HA HA!

just finished reading inuyasha.... swimming sense tingling, i need to go swim T_T ben's back tomoro! :D

p.s. i like the song that's playing now -.- it's quite old, but it's been playing in my head since "A lot like Love". and i love Daniel Vosovic, he's so CUTE -.-

boy i miss the cambo kids so much......

    Friday, June 20, 2008 @2:16 AM

    Happy do-re-me-FA-ther's day!

boy it's a busy day today. S.A (nice to see everyone...) , carhunting fer almost the whole day, then father's day dinner... and i didnt even get to say bye properly to the man who's leavin for ubin for 5 days -.- .. foul mood... >o<> NO WONDER they made us study BUSINESS GER and ENGINEERING GER .... haha..

dinner was nice- the service was excellent (soup restaurant at AMK hub).. The lady saw my pregnant sis-in-law and replaced her chinese chairstool with the chair that has a backing even when we didnt say anything...

Chee Kwee's sharing is very insightful..i tink he's really good..we always think so haha... yea neeways, yesterday 's service was pretty hmm..how shd i describe it..bizarre? heh.. Randy, a friend of Steve Nicaud, came over and shared about prophecies about heaven.. i thought it was a good knock on my thick skull to remember that end point again, so even though some pieces may be to fascinating or puzzling or unbelievable for me to comprehend/believe, i had to ask for humility on my side not to just view everything with contempt, but i tink it was a good call.

Ben lead sang and me on the drums - the weirdest vibes we got yesterday- ben :"i can't believe you knew what i was going to do leh (with regards to the music)" .. me: "err..i didnt know what u were doing actually". nonetheless, even though we were kind of overwhelmed by the visitors from other countries that came by yesterday, and we were scared of screwing up cos we always screw up haha, guess He did answer our little prayers and assured us individually that it really didnt matter. dont know bout ben, but it was the most comfortable time i had behind the drums since i started playin it... and we knew something was happening.. which was funny, because we knew that something was happening but we felt perfectly normal.. but after the service, there were ppl who came up and said that they really felt Him and that we were really anointed.. and we didnt really understand what happened but the both of us were sure that if this commitment to keeping to a true and humble worship with us doing our part and He using what little guitar/drum skills we have was what we were to do , then we would gladly do our little parts and have Him have the rest of the way.... we stayed very puzzled fer a long while and discussed about it and...well it was an interesting meeting.. heh and we concluded that we couldnt get used to nice music anymore... lol -.-

NEEWAYS.. while i was in my foul mood i doodled abit and tried some effects on the doodle on photoshop-.-

    no effects

    hard light

i liked this.. was it color dodge? cant remember..

ooh in case u are getting freaked out, there IS the face of a female in the middle of the pictures.. i didnt erase it properly. OOPS!

    K opps. long post! ta!

    Monday, June 16, 2008 @1:49 AM

Big fun in the sun :D

went swimmin today! :D hehhhehh! yay i tink i officially can swim!! *open poppers and celebrate* hahha! :D so today we swam quite abit, my back feels straight from all the swimmin -.- and abit burnt -.- hahahaha....

then we headed down to watch the incredible "Incredible Hulk" by the marvellous "Marvel Studios" . It was alot better than what i expected from what i saw of the trailer la. :D i tink it's really good! :) And Edward Norton played the role very well (as expected) and i thought Liv Tyler was one of the few female characters that played a good side character to a superhero/mutant/non-human/insect. Liked the CG, and definitely liked how they kept it close and true to the comic... yea. the marvel/edward norton fan is speaking. haha.

ichiban fer dinner!! :D and the two of us just talked about Marvel Comics, DC comics, superhero movies all the way. hahaha. Otaku? maybe.

worship prac was weird, was one of the days the songs had to be changed heh. when the song gets too tough and we tend to fuss and get frustrated about its musical details after various attempts, we (two of us) usually think that we'll change fer another song(if we could afford the time) so that we dont get caught up in the nitty gritties and forget the joy of singing/playing and praising..well thats what we do la -.-

ben finally installed the driver for the wacom(which i had with me for quite a long time -.-) ; i had been actualli using it like a mousepad for the past few months because the drivers were not installed. so irritating. NEHmind, hahah! first attempt! the pressure sensitive, frustration insensitive wacom haha.

Well on another interesting note, ever heard of the Doppler effect? It's seriously quite cool. hahah. Saw it on "the big bang theory". it's seriously super funny.

    "The
Doppler effect, named after Christian Doppler, is the change in frequency and wavelength of a wave for an observer moving relative to the source of the waves."

The guy, Sheldon,(in the show), went to a halloween party dressed as the "Doppler Effect" because he is a physicist /geek/nerd. hahah.

    Sunburnt. Itching. Tata!

    Saturday, June 14, 2008 @12:19 AM

    Too Tired, Two tyred.

yay new blog banner hahah :D i tink it's funny :D

    Yesday
ooh, met up with shin for kueh chap at kim san leng, first time in a long time sia! :D was fun :D hahaha. but while i was eating halfway i realised that isaac had been sitting at the table beside mine hahah! wouldnt know if he didnt say Hi haha -.- and i saw Ame Yeo tooo :D so after Shin's friend picked her up i jumped to Isaac/Ame/Elson's table and talk ahhaha :D i didnt know he was a coffee addict too. Hi five! :D was nice to see Ame just when we said we should meet up some day.. :)

    todays
woot, a busy fun day! wake up early because i thought my alarm woke ( that sucked) and then, drew, photoshopped, doodled, tuition with audrey.. then rush to meet nana.. heh very paiseh was late -.- Lav was late so me and nana went to get Bubbbblllle tea! :D

neeways we went to ys's house to swim today! wah his estate is very big and nice. reminded me of Castle Green though heh . Only me and Lav swam.. hahaha :D the weather was.... BOOOOOOTTTTIIIIFULLL today, the clouds were very pretty and the sky was very clear... :D yea :D the pool was so big that Lav say she might die if she swam lap-wise. hahahah. :D

then we went fer dinner at some thai restaurant near bugis! it's really good and cheaaap :D and we went fer dessert after that! haha my favourite almond paste! :D:D:D then.. guess what we went to IT fair -.- very confusing la the place, they should find some way to organise or for ppl to navigate... maybe.. a map with coordinates? Wa-com booth grid 4356. something like that. hahah.

ok! swim again tomoro! soooo excited! :D ooh.. and i'm watching *choir sing "ahhhhh" * THE HULK tomorrow. hahah! got liv tyler, the last show i remember her acting in is... Lord of the rings.... and OHHH i love Edward Norton. YAY!

    Wednesday, June 11, 2008 @12:50 AM

    holiday vibes

have been eating alot these few days -.- . but owell -.- :D went Kino on friday and i met Clio!!!! and Clio lent us her VIP card so we had a good discount fer Ben's book! T-T so great! T-T after havin Seoul Garden fer lunch ,we had dessert, then headed down to Ben's grandparents' house fer dinner :) it was really nice, his grandparents are always very nice and hospitable :) and then we chilled over cake and coffee fer supper!

    Saturday
Ate at Pizza place fer lunch.. Pizza place is located at Raffles City basement near Yakun, and they sell really nice pizza and meatball pasta! Lav introed the place to us :D heh... their Hawaiian Pizza is barbeque-sauce based.. and then went down fer dinner at my brother's place.. he cook so much sia! western cuisine, and it was really nice :) full course meal with starters and dessert summore -.-

    today
My date with Lav!! Went to substation to attend her friend's band's performance and i managed to jio Loo and Ys to join us to watch "Sex and the City" at 230 when Lav and me decided to watch the 4pm show. HA HA . in the end we watched the 645 one cos we hate 2nd row seats hehe. Was fun!!! great company :D heh. Had quite a nice dinner at Waraku (yea! with freebie! ) :D Sex and the City had a quite alot of sex in it .. -.- other than that i taught it was girly, quite lighthearted, probably predictable but ..as long as it's a romance show with happy endings i tink it's nice :) but abit too much sex for me tho. i'll rate it RA instead of M18 haha. quite funny also. Make-up and fashion on the show was splendid. I wonder if everyone there really wears so much label clothes tho. To me, it's a waste of money. HA HA.

yea... spent a nice day out today! :D i kinda like it when nothing is prearranged when you go out sometimes cos it's really quite exciting when everything comes together! :D HEH!

okay on the topic of FUNNINESS , you've got to watch this show called "the Big Bang Theory" by Chuck Lorre (same producer as Dharma and Greg) it's about 2 totally high IQ nerds/geeks/physicists and their new neighbour - a normal blonde girl who works in a cheesecake factory. Their vast differences make the show so funny. They had an episode with a WOW intro, 4 of the guys doing a quest together fighting goblins. HAHA . dam funny man! :D

Tryin out this new onion ring recipe tomoro. It looks great and easy to make!! ~

    Sunday, June 08, 2008 @10:43 PM

    Couch Tomato
    (less carbo, healthier)

(that's the nostalgic cartoon Tomato attack! )

Got back the results! ( checked it one day later than the others cos i remembered the date wrongly) .HA HA . Saved me the server jam on results day! I'm thankful for it! :) It definitely wasnt as good as last sem, but i think the grades were good enough for what effort i really put in. Thank God :)

Had been reading mangas till my eyes popped , looking fer a job ( Audrey came over fer tuition and i told her, when someone has a stack of Classifieds, she is definitely looking fer a job) , watching nostalgic cartoons online (like chip chip chip chip and dale) , looking at alot of potential recipes that i'll try, and yesterday i tried watching an online movie.

NOT BAD! i tink that watching movies at the cinema is quite a waste of money ( i usually go for the company! ) .. yaya neeways i watched Fantastic 4 hahaha. Had missed it when it was out on the theatre. HA HA . Was fun! and i can forward dragging parts and adjust the volume when it's too loud or soft! GREAT!!!! HA HA . the SPECTATOR IN CONTROL!

On the topic of nostalgic cartoons, me and ben have been addicted to "Dharma and Greg", a really old comedy about this hippie and this nerd falling in love with each other and yadah yadah... it's REALLY funny and cute. You've gotta watch it seriously!! planning to hunt for the dvd so we can rewatch it when we're old. haha. and thomas gibson is really cute! :D

borrowed some Maya books and some animation books -.- Wellwell, did you know that animation (drawing, designing, non-IT) books are also in the IT section not arts . -.- . No wonder i couldnt find them for years! T-T btw, anyone know anywhere that photocopies books 100%?

ooh neeways. Watch online shows/ movies
here! It's a splendid webbie. i watched project runway, ANTM, criminal minds, everything there. hahah. They even have ZOIDS!

went to Google and guess what i saw. -.- LES MENINAS nas nas nas nas nas nas nas nas !!! -.-

    Friday, June 06, 2008 @11:32 AM

TADAH! BRACED! (that's the color of ma braces!)

today i went back for my braces appointment with my orthodontist (FINALLY) hahah. didnt have many to go fer 2 months cos i spent all my savings on the Cambo trip. LOLs. O well. so today i go see him and the tightening is so painful! T-T

He prolly suspects that i havent been wearing my rubber bands (which i do most of the time) but funny accidents like the rubber snapping when i yawn or when i laugh too hard ( which i always do) OR rubber bands flying out of my mouth when i brush my teeth and i dont carry extras with me ( i really dont know how it happens. WELL it must be the LAW OF PHYSICS! ) haha.

so so so i got a new appointment card today cos mine was already full and i counted the number of times i've been to the orthodontist and it's 14 times - 12 times for the braces! so it means... I HAVE BRACED MYSELF FOR A YEAR NOW! *pop balloons

even though i'm so happy that it's one year, i hope that it comes off soon. HA HA HA

ooh oooh ooh, HJ sent me a song yday. It's really sweet! i dont know how out of date i am, but err...it's the song playing now - "Lucky" . heh.

Lucky - Jason Mraz/ Colbie Caillat (chord placement not accurate)

      C Am
Now do ya hear me talking to you
    Dm7 G Em
Across the water, across the deep blue ocean
    Am Dm7
Under the open sky, oh my
    G
    Baby I'm trying

    C Am
Boy I hear you in my dreams
    Dm7 G
I feel your whisper across the sea
    Em Am
I keep you with me in my heart
    Dm7 G
You make it easier when life gets hard

    Chorus:
    Am Dm7 G
Lucky I'm in love with my best friend
    C C/B Am
Lucky to have been where I have been
    Dm7 G
Lucky to be coming home again
    C Am Em G
    Ooooh ooh-oooooh ooh-ooooooh....

    Bridge:
    Dm7 Am
They don't know how long it takes
    G Dm7
Waiting for a love like this
    Am G Dm7
Every time we say goodbye, I wish we had one more kiss
    Am G
I'll wait for you, I promise you, I will

    Chorus:
I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again

Lucky we're in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home some day

    verse 2:
And so I'm sailing, through the sea
To an island, where we'll meet
You'll hear the music, fill the air
I put a flower in you hair

And though the breezes through the trees
Move so pretty, you're all I see
Let the world keep spinning round
You hold me right here, right now

i tink it's a cute song. HA HA. Shall be nice and dedicate it to my
8year bestfriend- 5year boyfriend. haha! once in a lifetime i act like a proper girlfriend! :D
