Weird dreams last nite .. woke up early morning to do the small group today which we missed last night due to the rain... it is actually illegal to have church anywhere else but in the registered church institutions in Cambodia, so i was reminded by Rhonda of the kind of privilege that we have... Peter (the sick boy that i wrote about yesterday) said he couldnt feel his legs much today.. :( but we prayed and there's really no other thing we can do... but i think that is sufficient.. taught and watched an english cartoon today... and learnt abit of Khmer from the staff today and wrote it ALL OVER my hand along the way haha. it's really funny. Dan says it looks like tattoo. I wonder.... looked at past photos and Seth and Christopher (the adopted cambodian kids my host family adopted) grew so much!homemade coleslaw and sandwich for dinner tonight and i caught American Idol with the americans tonite.. HEH..it was fun .. i really like David Cook and David archuleta but Jason Castro is so charming T-T yea, lookin forward to another day. Grandma Peggy will be coming back soon i think... ah the stack of books to be marked is really stacking up.. -o- taking good care, thanks for all who are concerned and praying :) continue to keep me in prayer! love, n Greetings from cambodia.. so far it's been alrite, the first 2 days were really bad cos i was really homesick alone here... T-T daily responsibilities include teaching kids social studies, math, science and english...really basic ones though... it's great hanging out with the kids...i love it but sometimes it gets really sad ..the boy i really like called Peter got really sick and he was so pale when i saw him for the first time since my last visit in dec07... heard that he may have some infection in his blood...and i was really really sad... also heard that 2 of the boys have hepatitis... which was really sad..the other day their medicine werent closed properly and ants were infesting it and we had to pick out the ants one by one because the medicine is expensive... it was really sad.. but other than that...so far living with so many chidren and americans in a house with 2 cats and 2 dogs is really quite nice :) am really starting to like it here... yea :) other than that i have been stranded in a rain which flooded the grounds to our mid-calves (and it totally freaked me out) cos my shoes got lost in the mud and the lightning just kept coming... and reached home to find that the house was flooded and we had to dry the house drenched before we cleaned ourselves up ... but that was the nicest night cos it was cool. the weather here had been so crazily hot that we have had to bathe in cold water and change more than one set of clothes a day T-T . also...i've been to 2 churches, one which was really too charismatic for me... but the other which was so close to heart (Internation Church Association) whereby the pastor encouraged the christians in Cambodia to persevere and hope despite the different backgrounds we came from. there were people from all nations there...americans, indos, filipinos, other angmohs, blacks, and even 2 other singaporeans. i really loved it.... the old school stuff :) so that's what i've gone thru so far... and God has been with me all this time, all my fears and discomforts and doubts He's had His way so i am thankful. :) am really thankful to the Benz family for their kindness :) so...till the next time i update again... errr... i hurt my toe and my tummy hurts. hahah and i love boys more than girls!! KISSY!! k peace out.... Got my injection and malaria pills last night which costs a total of 250 bucks T-T injections are dam painful for skinny people i think - the doc prolly couldnt find any fleshy part on my arm to inject T-T so for now it's like my shoulder is stuck to my body. T-T STIFF MAN okay before i leave i have to thank God for alot of things: Fundraisers >ben - from his colleagues - thank you colleagues , you are very kind :) >Songlim, Zi Xian, Paul, Don, Enid and boyfriend, Cynthia, and the anons... >My 2nd bro- who funded me abit and lent/gave me his suitcase ( that took alot of money off my list!) People >family - sorry for telling you all so late but you were very kind and understanding. Thanks for your care and concern. >friends - thanks for all your well-wishes! so just 3 days before i leave i finally have sufficient funds and proper medication - going alone is very troublesome cos im not person who likes to do things in advance. really thankful that everything is coming together properly... :) got the mp3 bibles in Khmer(cambodian language) from Timothy to tom pang on my trip there. it's quite cool la, it looks like a big walkie talkie... heh. people in the village cannot read so we have to send them those :D i tink it's very user-friendly! dont know that people make that nowadays haha --- other than that... American idol is very interesting this season! quite sad i'll miss the adm opening and best of adm show.. but owells... :D 1 day of staying overnight at school, 2 days of no sleep,thus ends the first year of ADM T-T that's 2d haunts from the start and end of the semester man. tired T-T getting ready to fly :) sometimes i feel that you may leave cos im the greatest risk you have to put up with... breathe past week was so busy - didnt sleep much from tuesday onward ToT filmed for 4d on tuesday, most clips didnt make it - quite funny actually, elaborate next time. wednesday - stayed in school overnite since night drawing took long , but i actually enjoyed it cos i like drawing alone slowly and the night breeze was cool. supper outside school, prata uncle spilled curry on me. T-T alamak, do i look like prata to you. edited clips for 4d, thanks Loo for the jacket and company! didnt bother going to the lab cos my ADM instincts tell me that there are PR (permanent residents) living there so sure wont have space. practically couldnt sleep cos most ADMers do not sleep so the lounge area was so noisy tho i was at the lift area T-T. thursday - Woke up early to realise that Loo Clio and Me were one hour early for DiDi's consultation. so we chuied outside his room, discussing about flabby muscles, saggy chests, ideal female figures, ideal male color, and yayaya we get the idea haha. Didi came and got interested in Phua Chu Kang. Rofl. Wanted to go home straight after consultation but we went on a hunt for Clio's installation that got stolen ( U bastards and bustards return her project leh!),in the end stayed for lunch but was nice la. Bought bell peppers, sauces, prawn and chicken for 3d project. Cut whole afternoon, ate dinner, napped, woke up, cut whole nite, panic attack, nearly died of stress from 3d cos i only settled my display layout at 7AM ? really freaked out. but the presentation was fun, i had fun cos it was the last project for 3d. ONE DOWN! 2d 4d WAH and marketing to go. yea. after the presentation - yay ben cooked dinner and we watched criminal minds! WEEKEND! today was spent on criminal minds, church and 3d - retaking photos for fragments, taking photos for plaster ! yay. i feel better already :)   |
